Introduction
Congratualations! You are now using the most advanced website editor available. This section is for your reference and after you are familiar with it you should set it's status to "Hidden". You will always be able to find and read it once you login.
It is important to spend time thinking about your main "Home" page of your site. Your "Home" page is what your visitors will first see when they come to your web site and is the single most important page you have. This is because the average visitor makes a choice to stay or leave your site in just a few seconds, often without looking past the first visible portion the first page (just about 3-4 inches from the top). They won't scroll or look any further than the very first screen load. It is vital to put text and images here that will communicate in a moment what you offer and why they want it. It is also the page that search engines will look at first to determine where they will list you in their rankings. Spending thought and time on your Home page is the single most important thing you can do for your site.
What Are You Going To Do Now?
The first thing you will want to do is think about how people will be looking for your products and services. Then do a little research in popular search engines as to how your competition is found. Pay close attention to how they are crafting their page titles, headlines, paragraph heads and body copy to include the key words and phrases the people might be searching with.
You want this home page to be full of the key words and phrases that you think your customers will be searching on and still be text that a human visitor will want to read - that it is engaging and informative about your products and services. Make a list of your three top key phrases and make sure that you include them in your page titles, paragraph titles and body text at least three to 4 times each. Then craft your copy to read well and make a strong case for your products. Spend most of your time right here at the top of this home page and it will be the best time you spend on your site.

Instead you must try to get your store in a good location, with a large and eye catching sign. You'll want a big windows where you can display your products and change the display often so people are always noticing something new. You'll hand out flyers and run promotions. A web site is no different. If you ignore it so will the rest of the world. promote it every way you can and it will bring in customers from around the world. Be sure to include your site address on everything you can. For example:
- Cards, letter head, invoices, bills, and all paper correspondence.
- Include your signature, contact information and web address on all emails
- Signs, posters, flyers, shopping bags, stickers, & Bumper Stickers
- Yellow page ad, bus or billboard ads, TV, radio and any print ads.
- Coupons, specials and contests.
Promte your site locally and regionall by getting listed in print and online directories and asking other related websites to add a link back to your site. Add an electronic newsletter to keep interested customers informed about new products, services or events. Just like in the physical world, your easiest new customer is your old customer.
